A November 17th electronic announcement from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) provides partners with updated information regarding extended Web site maintenance activities, taking place during the month of November, that are in addition to the routine maintenance that occurs each weekend. Details regarding specific dates, times, and impacted Web sites are included in the electronic announcement.
Various ISAC materials have been created in a large-print format for visually-impaired users, and are available in the Job Aids & Reference Materials area (#12) of College Zone's e-Library. The pieces can be printed and then copied and distributed as necessary by partners who may find them helpful.
A November 7th electronic announcement from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) notifies partners that a reorganized and redesigned Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site will be implemented on Sunday, November 23, 2008. Because the redesigned IFAP site will incorporate several features that have been available on the Financial Aid Professionals Portal (FAP) Web site, ED will retire FAP upon implementation of the new IFAP site.
College-bound students and their families may utilize the Financial Aid Package Comparison Worksheet when determining which college(s) the student may be able to attend. Financial aid professionals can access the worksheet via the Printable Materials page of the e-Library, and families will find it via the "How and When to Apply for Financial Aid (Calendar)" pages of the Student and Parent Zones.
In preparation for the 2009-10 Renewal Reminder distribution, Federal Student Aid (FSA) is reminding colleges to update all of their students' 2008-09 Student Aid Report (SAR) and Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) transactions with current e-mail and mailing addresses by January 11, 2009. Further details are provided in a November 5th electronic announcement.
A November 5th electronic announcement from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) indicates that the 2009-10 Student Web Application Products Process Guide - which contains information about enhancements and other changes being made at the FAFSA4caster, FAFSA on the Web, and Federal Student Aid PIN Web sites - is available online.
A November 4th e-Message announces the availability of Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant payment request rosters at My Zone, the new functionality that allows colleges to submit ING Grant payment requests (initial, supplemental and out-of-district) via the My Zone portal.
ISAC's upcoming holiday processing schedules (through New Year's Day) are available for loan records [CommonLine and Common Account Maintenance (CAM) files] and Monetary Award Program (MAP) and Silas Purnell Illinois Incentive for Access (IIA) Program records.
