The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has announced that Illinois will shortly receive over $415 million to support education jobs.
Expected to help keep teachers in the classroom for the 2010-11 school year, and to avert possible cuts in teaching jobs, the funding was allocated to states based on population figures.
Each state will be responsible for distributing the funds to their school districts, based on their own funding formulas.
