A November 14, 2008 article from Inside Higher Ed discusses a recent study from the Institute for Higher Education Policy, which was underwritten by the Education Resources Institute. According to the study, financial concerns (including high college costs and limited financial aid dollars) may cause academically-qualified students to decide while they are still in high school that they will not pursue a college education. Experts hope that understanding the reason some students choose not to enroll in college will ultimately lead to improved access to higher education.
